Seungheon Lee

Seungheon Lee is a Ph.D. candidate in Analytical Chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin, where he conducts research under the mentorship of Professor Devleena Samanta. His work focuses on developing DNA-enzyme conjugates and nanostructured probes for intracellular chemical sensing and targeted therapeutics. By engineering biomolecular tools to detect disease-relevant signals within living cells, his research aims to advance early-stage diagnostics and address disparities in access to medical technologies.

He is deeply committed to science education and mentorship, earning multiple teaching awards, including the Faraday Award for Outstanding Teaching Assistants. As Student President of the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) Austin Chapter, he also leads professional development initiatives and community outreach for young researchers. Driven by both scientific curiosity and a desire to make medical technologies more equitable, he plans to pursue a postdoctoral position and ultimately lead independent research focused on disease mechanisms and precision diagnostics.
